Hi everyone!
My name is Marcie, and I live in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. I was introduced to the World Race through my brother. He went on the Race about two years ago and met his fiancée during the experience. Through their testimonies, I got to hear how deeply the World Race impacted their lives. Their faith grew substantially, and I was able to witness my brother’s transformation—from who he was before into the godly man he is now. Seeing how powerfully they were impacted and how much closer to God they became stirred a desire in me—one that the Lord placed in my heart since I was a little girl—to be a missionary in foreign countries for an extended period of time. I wrestled for a while with the decision to apply for the World Race, unsure if it was truly the Lord’s will for me. I struggled, prayed, and waited for clarity. Eventually, the Lord gave me peace about signing up, so I applied. However, my first route ended up getting canceled. That was really discouraging, and I questioned if that was God saying I wasn’t supposed to go at all. But in time, I realized that God just had different plans. As I continued seeking Him, I spoke with several godly people and met with my mentor. We spent time simply sitting in the Lord’s presence, asking for clarity. Almost immediately after closing my eyes, I felt the Lord place Vietnam on my heart. It was so clear, and I felt an overwhelming sense of peace—so I said, “Okay, let’s do it!” Over the next few days, some of that clarity started to fade, and I wasn’t as sure. But then, during a phone call with my brother, he confirmed that Vietnam was the place I was meant to go. I transferred to Route One, and that’s where I am now! I’m so excited to see why the Lord is calling me to Vietnam and what He has in store. Two fun facts about me:
1. I’m the fifth child in my family and was born on August 5.
2. I’m in a knitting group filled with women three times my age—and I absolutely love it!
